Exciting Development in Kazakhstan’s Financial Sector: Digital Investment Coin
In a groundbreaking move for Kazakhstan's financial sector, the National Bank of Kazakhstan has announced the launch of the Digital Investment Coin, a new initiative set to roll out in the first quarter of 2025. This innovative project celebrates the national currency, the Tenge, by offering investors the opportunity to buy and sell gold investment coins online, accessible anytime and from anywhere across the globe.
The new digital coin, named ÚKI, will be minted in 999.9 fine gold, weighing 31.1 grams with a nominal value of 100 Tenge. This exclusive design and value structure reflect Kazakhstan’s commitment to integrating digital assets into the financial ecosystem, providing a unique opportunity for individuals worldwide to invest in gold, while embracing a digital-first approach to the market.
Key Features of the Digital Investment Coin:
- The value of the digital coin will be determined by the weight of the gold it represents, the price set by the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA), and the exchange rate of the USD to Tenge as determined by the National Bank.
- The digital coin will be available for purchase through the “TABYS” mobile app, developed by the Astana International Exchange (AIX), making it easy for investors to engage in gold investment digitally.
- In addition to buying and selling, the platform will allow users to gift coins, and accumulated digital coins can be exchanged for physical gold investment coins at National Bank branches.
This launch signifies a major step in Kazakhstan’s financial evolution, offering a modern, secure way for global investors to engage with the country's rich gold reserves. With the growing trend of digital finance, this initiative positions Kazakhstan at the forefront of innovative investment solutions. Whether for seasoned investors or those just beginning their investment journey, the Digital Investment Coin offers a seamless and accessible entry point into the world of gold investment.
