We are pleased to share that last week, the Astana International Financial Centre released a comprehensive and insightful guide addressing key questions regarding cryptocurrency trading in Kazakhstan. The guide offers clarity on the legality of cryptocurrencies, provides a list of authorised crypto exchanges, and offers essential guidance on how to distinguish between legitimate and banned platforms.
Additionally, we are excited to inform on an exclusive opportunity for AIFC staff: a 20% discount on tuition fees for all educational programmes at Quantum Tech School, excluding catering services and the one-time admission fee.
We also encourage you to listen to an engaging podcast featuring Mr. Thomas Krümmel, Chairman of the International Arbitration Centre, as he discusses the merits of arbitration at the IAC, even in cases where the dispute has no direct connection to Kazakhstan or Kazakh law.
In an insightful Fireside Chat, AFSA representatives engaged with Arushi Goel, Policy Lead for the Middle East and North Africa at Chainalysis, to explore the rapidly evolving digital asset landscape and the regulatory frameworks shaping the future of fintech in Kazakhstan. Yagub Zamanov, AFSA’s FinTech Director, also provided valuable insights into the AIFC’s unique regulatory approach to digital assets, highlighting significant differences from the regulatory landscape in mainland Kazakhstan.
Turning to global markets, the US stock market showed mixed results throughout the week. After a rise in major indices on Monday, Tuesday saw a slight uptick in the Dow and S&P 500, while the NASDAQ experienced a dip. By Friday, technology stocks performed strongly, but gold and crude oil prices saw a decline.
Lastly, the recent AIFC Talk session on the launch of the new AIFC AI Chatbot was a great success. Speakers showcased the chatbot’s key features and benefits, underscoring its potential to enhance customer service and significantly improve user experience.
