Dear AIFC Team,
I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation to each and every one of you for your remarkable efforts during the Astana Finance Days on September 5-6. With over 4,200 participants from 70 countries, 40 insightful sessions, and 180 distinguished speakers, the event was an undeniable success. It showcased the very best of what the AIFC stands for – excellence, innovation, and leadership in the global financial landscape.
Our conference brought together not only key figures in the global financial industry but also top-decision makers from Kazakhstan's National Bank, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Digitalization, Samruk-Kazyna, and Baiterek, to name just a few.
The presence of President Tokayev was a great honor, and I am proud that we demonstrated the incredible achievements of our leading companies like Freedom Finance, China Construction Bank, FixPrice, Grata, and Binance at the AIFC Participants’ Pavilion.
Moreover, the successful meeting of the Management Council, chaired by President Tokayev himself, where we approved the Annual Report of AIFC for 2023, appointed Angela Knight as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of AFSA, and received feedback and proposals from our participants: Solidcore and Amicorp, Chief Justice of AIFC Court Lord Burnett and the esteemed new members of the AIFC Council: Angela Knight, Tim Bennett, Abdulhamid Alahmadi, was a testament to the work and dedication you all have invested.
President Tokayev’s feedback and encouragement showed that we are moving in the right direction, and his emphasis on the necessity to develop the AIFC further only strengthens our resolve. Looking ahead, President Tokayev has tasked us with several ambitious goals: ensuring legislative stability, particularly in relation to taxes and benefits for our participants; attracting National Fund and Pension Reserve asset managers to AIFC; developing a carbon trading platform; setting up new funds, such as a disaster recovery fund and other tasks. These are challenging tasks, but I am confident that together, we will not only meet but exceed expectations.
The strong reception of the AIFC Business Club was particularly impressive. Having 10 founding members sign on even before the official launch is truly encouraging. This speaks volumes about the value of the community we are building and the trust we have fostered among top managers, business leaders, and investors. Our success was also punctuated by the recognition of 11 outstanding companies for their contributions to the AIFC in 2024. These awards serve as a reminder of the hard work and commitment that are hallmarks of our center.
I am proud to say that we have already received positive feedback from both international and local participants regarding the exceptional content and seamless organization of the event. This is a direct reflection of your passion, commitment, and professionalism.
As we move forward, I want to encourage you all to maintain the same dedication and enthusiasm that made Astana Finance Days such a success. Each of you plays an integral role in shaping the future of AIFC, and your contributions are making a real impact not just within our ecosystem, but across the national and regional financial community.
