Welcome to the New AIFC Weekly News Digest
Dear Colleagues,
We have some exciting updates to share with you this week!
The past week has been a busy one at the Astana International Financial Centre, marked by visits, official releases, and the unmistakable energy of a new business season.
We are excited to highlight the recent publication of the `Kazakhstan: Commercial Real Estate and the Prospects of the REIT Market` report by the AIFC. This insightful document forecasts a growing demand for commercial real estate in Kazakhstan, driven by economic and population growth, particularly in sectors such as shopping and entertainment, office spaces, and warehousing. We encourage you to delve into this well-researched document.
Additionally, we welcomed a delegation from Germany, led by Michael Kellner, Member of the Bundestag. AIFC Governor Renat Bekturov took the opportunity to present the financial centre and its potential for promoting cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany.
In a significant step forward for environmental finance, the UzMRC successfully issued Uzbekistan's first green bonds on the Tashkent Stock Exchange, with support from the AIFC Green Finance Centre.
This week, we also featured an interview highlighting the success of Minerals Operating Ltd, an AIFC participant. The discussion covered the company’s achievements in the geological sector, along with the challenges of attracting investment for field development.
Don't miss the upcoming training session on October 29, `Lawyers and Accountants: Joint Efforts in Preventing and Resolving Disputes`, presented by the AIFC Court and IAC Training Centre in cooperation with KPMG CCA.
We extend our congratulations to Vladimir Savov on his appointment as Director of Markets at the Astana Financial Services Authority. With over two decades of experience in financial supervision and capital markets, Vladimir brings a wealth of expertise to this role.
Finally, be sure to tune in to this week’s AIFC Talk for insights on the `AIFC Academy 2.0: Bridging Corporate, Academic, and Digital Learning`.
Thank you for staying connected and engaged. Let’s continue to make strides together!
Best regards,
