On 15 September 2025, in Astana, the AIFC Authority and the Committee on Intellectual Property Rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the sphere of intellectual property protection.
The Memorandum aims to foster effective collaboration to strengthen the system of intellectual property rights protection. The parties will combine their efforts and resources to provide legal support for businesses, exchange best practices, and enhance mechanisms for safeguarding intellectual property.
On the same day, the AIFC joined the network of Technology and Innovation Support Centres (TISC), coordinated by the National Institute of Intellectual Property, by signing an Accession Agreement.
TISC provides researchers, scientists, and entrepreneurs with access to international patent and scientific-technical databases, as well as advisory support in preparing applications for intellectual property rights protection. In Kazakhstan, the TISC network is among the most dynamically expanding in Central Asia.
Both agreements open new opportunities for integrating Kazakhstan’s national innovation system into the global landscape, strengthening the country’s investment attractiveness, and enhancing the competitiveness of domestic developments.
