As you know, Kazakh is our mother tongue and holds the status of the State language under the Constitution. In recent years, the use and significance of Kazakh have been steadily expanding across all areas of society.

Although the official working language of the Astana International Financial Centre is English, we believe it is equally important to actively promote and further develop the Kazakh language.

To help create a supportive linguistic environment, enhance our employees’ ability to communicate in Kazakh, and foster friendly connections, the Department of Corporate Administration and International Relations, in collaboration with the HR and Organisational Development Department, is launching the Kazakh Speaking Club.

Here’s what you need to know:

• When: Every Wednesday during the lunch break – the luckiest day of the week!
• Format: Informal and open discussions on a wide range of topics, from everyday conversations to professional subjects.
• Facilitator: Our colleague and linguist, Serikzhan Bakytzhan, will lead the sessions and provide constructive feedback.

We believe this initiative will not only help strengthen language skills but also foster a welcoming atmosphere for informal communication and idea-sharing among colleagues.

The Kazakh Speaking Club is open to everyone! Just bring a notebook, a pen, and – most importantly – a positive attitude.
