Visit by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan
Under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a meeting of the Management Council of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) took place.
Opening the meeting, the President highlighted the rapid changes in the global capital market, the formation of new international trade and economic ties, the expansion of integration processes between countries, and the redistribution of financial flows.
According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, current challenges and transformations present new opportunities for Kazakhstan. In this regard, he emphasised the important role of the AIFC in ensuring the country’s further sustainable and progressive development.
Significant results have been achieved in the relatively short period of the AIFC’s operations. Excellent conditions have been created for attracting investments, unmatched at the regional level. Favourable tax, visa, and labour regimes have been provided for our investors. The principle of individual and comprehensive support for each investor has been introduced. A fair and impartial judicial system has been established. Thanks to new digital solutions, participation in IPOs has become accessible to all residents of Kazakhstan, – said the President.
The Head of State stressed that the AIFC faces the task of strengthening its status as a successful regional financial hub. Based on this, he outlined several key points. In particular, the President pointed to the importance of continuing to attract investments into the country’s economy and the need to improve the investment ecosystem.
The Centre has already established close cooperation with partners from the US, Europe, the UK, and several Asian and Middle Eastern countries. Work is underway to promote investment projects with major companies from the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. All of this allows for a significant expansion of the investment potential of the AIFC and Kazakhstan’s economy.
