AIFC Highlights Its Role in Shaping Kazakhstan’s Modern Investment Climate at KGIR-2025
On 31 October, representatives of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) took part in one of Kazakhstan’s key investment events – the Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable (KGIR-2025), organised by the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and KAZAKH INVEST.

The forum brought together more than 1,000 participants from over 50 countries, including senior government officials, heads of national companies, international corporations, and representatives of the diplomatic and business communities.

The event opened with the AIFC panel session “From Innovation to Sustainability: How the AIFC Shapes Kazakhstan’s Modern Investment Climate.” The session featured a welcome address by AIFC Governor Renat Bekturov and was moderated by Baurzhan Kankin, Chief Client Officer at the AIFC Authority.

Speakers included Bakhtiyar Tleubekov, CEO of the AIFC Authority; Christopher Campbell-Holt OBE, Registrar and Chief Executive of the AIFC Court and International Arbitration Centre (IAC); and Ainura Zhumatova, Director of the AIFC Expat Centre. Ruslan Byurabekov, Consultant at Grata International (Astana), also joined the discussion, noting that the AIFC’s legal framework, based on the principles of English common law, provides a predictable and reliable environment for foreign investors.

Renat Bekturov also moderated the panel session “Logistics Transformation and the Food of the Future: New Drivers of Kazakhstan’s Sustainable Growth.” The discussion explored emerging trends in logistics and the agri-food sector, their contribution to sustainable economic growth, and opportunities for strengthening regional cooperation.

Within the framework of KGIR-2025, 49 commercial agreements were signed, with a total value exceeding USD 7.5 billion, reflecting the high level of confidence that international partners place in Kazakhstan’s investment climate.
